Parral District Exploration

 Introduction
Scorpio Mining holds two advanced, high-grade silver projects in the Parral district - La Revancha and Tepozán. The Parral district is host to several past and currently producing mines, including Grupo Mexico's Santa Barbara Zn-Pb-Cu deposit and Minera Frisco's San Francisco Ag-Pb-Zn-Cu deposit.

 La Revancha Deposit
Located in the State of Chihuahua, the 100% owned La Revancha property hosts an outcropping vein system currently traced over a 1.5 km strike length. The veins are oriented in a north-south direction and steeply dipping. Mineralization is hosted in silicified breccia and replacement zones filling fractures and faults. A considerable amount of historic mining has taken place on the vein system.

Results of the first phase of drilling completed by Scorpio Mining in 2011-2012 are presented in the Corporation's March 5, 2012 and April 30, 2012 press releases. Highlights include:
  • Hole LAR-37: 278 g/t Ag over 6.0 m true width
  • Hole LAR-52: 192 g/t Ag over 15.0 m true width
  • Hole LAR 56: 197 g/t Ag over 11.5 m true width

At least three veins are observed: La Revancha, El Alto and San Nicholas. Drilling to date of the La Revancha and El Alto vein systems has indicated reasonably consistent mineralization over a strike length of at least 500 meters and possibly up to 700 meters, including one identified gap in the mineralization. Mineralization has been tested up to 250 meter vertical depths. It remains open at depth, at least 100 meters to the south and at least 300 meters to the north.

The near vertical nature of the mineralizing system and the fact that nearly all mineralization drilled to date is above the valley floor indicates the potential for relatively easy development and mining in the future.

A follow on program of at least 2000 meters is planned beginning in late June or July 2012. Subject to results, the Corporation anticipates conducting a preliminary resource calculation for this project by year end.

A detailed geology and drill hole location plan, long-section and selected cross-sections are presented below.

Longitudinal Section

 Tepozan Deposit
Located in the State of Durango, the Tepozán silver-gold vein system is currently traced over 1.3 km strike length (open). Chip channel sampling of oxide vein material from the main workings returned >200 g/t Ag over 1-2 m widths in 50% of the samples collected, and locally reports > 1 g/t Au (highs of 895 g/t Ag/2.0m and 7.54 g/t Au/1.7m). The vein system has seen limited historical production and offers excellent potential for down-dip, high-grade silver-lead-zinc sulphide mineralization.

 Exploration
A 7,000 m surface drilling program initiated in 2011 will continue at the La Revancha and Tepozán projects in 2012.

Drilling on the La Revancha silver deposit is targeting oxide mineralization currently traced by drilling over a distance of 300 metres, as well as testing for higher-grade sulphide mineralization that is more commonly exploited in the Parral district. At the Tepozán gold-silver deposit, drilling will test a previously undrilled 1.3 kilometre long quartz vein system believed to be related to mineralization in the Parral District. The Corporation believes that mineralization encountered at La Revancha and Tepozán are high-level expressions of high-grade sulphide mineralization currently being mined in the District, such as Grupo Mexico's Santa Barbara Mine and Minera Frisco's San Francisco del Oro Mine.
