Through its acquisition of Platte River Gold Inc. in 2010, Scorpio obtained several advanced projects including the San Rafael silver-lead-zinc-copper-gold deposit and El Cajón silver-copper-gold deposit, both having NI 43-101 compliant mineral resource estimates. In addition, Scorpio acquired the operating La Verde silver-copper mine.

The Company holds land access agreements with the local Ejidos (land owners) that control surface rights for these properties. Under these access agreements, Scorpio Mining is granted permission to undertake all activities including the construction and operation of open pit mining, waste dumps, tailings storage facilities and mineral processing facilities.
