Vancouver, October 2, 2007 - Scorpio Mining Corporation (TSX:SPM) is pleased to report additional underground drill results targeting the Nuestra Senora body from the 8th, 9th, 10.5 sub- level and 11th Levels of its 100% owned Nuestra Señora project, Sinaloa State, Mexico.
The results from drill holes NSUG-07-173 & 175 represent deep drilling below the area of estimated reserves and resources presented in the Company's June 14, 2007 news release, and allows for the continued building of the overall mineral resource. The mineralization within the deposit remains open at depth.
