Vancouver, March 26, 2007 - Scorpio Mining Corporation (TSX:SPM) is pleased to report initial results of drilling from the 9th Level of the Nuestra Señora Silver-Zinc deposit, targeting the main Nuestra Señora body.

Peter J. Hawley, Chairman, CEO reports, "NS9L-06-15 was drilled from the 9th Level and targeted extensions of the multiple mineralized zones intersected in NS8L-06-47, drilled from the 8th Level, 30 metres vertically above (see March 19, 2007 news release). The impressive results continue to demonstrate the robust nature of the mineralizing system within the Nuestra Señora deposit, and will certainly have a positive impact on the resource grade and tonnage. Currently there are three underground drills working on the 9th and 10th Levels, and surface drilling has commenced on nearby targets identified by our exploration team."
